Respect the Past, Build The Future
Building A Better Brown County.
I was raised in this incredibly special place we call Brown County. I attended Helmsburg and Van Buren Elementary. I graduated from Brown County High School in 1998.

As a youth, I was involved in Scouts, BSA; earning my Eagle Scout. I participated in the High School Band and Newspaper. My family are Parishioners at St. Agnes Catholic Church.
I earned a Bachelor in Social Studies Education from Indiana State University and taught in Terre Haute for several years before returning moving my family back to Brown County a decade ago.
I took a teaching job at Brown County Junior High (Middle School). My wife is the Art Teacher at Helmsburg and Sprunica Elementary. My kids attend Brown County Schools. I recently left teaching in Brown County so that I could become active in making Brown County a sustainable community.

Since coming home, I have became the Cubmaster of Pack 190 for many years and am now serving as the Scoutmaster of Troop 190. I also served for several years as the President of the County Redevelopment Commission.
Declining enrollment in our schools. Fewer youth are involved in programs and organizations. A declining and aging population. Our community is going through a period of demographic and economic change--we must have strategies not only to adapt but also to put our community on a path to thrive in the future.

Our current leaders are not rising to that challenge. The people of Brown County deserve leaders who will respond to the challenges that we are facing.

I envision a Brown County that is prepared to thrive for decades to come. We need to be prepared to tackle the challenges of attainably priced homes. We need to effectively attract younger residents who will enroll their kids in our schools and be the economic drivers for the next generation.

Tourism and the arts is, and always will be, an economic driver of Brown County. We must support and strategically grow that sector. However, it is necessary for us to also explore other ways to keep Brown County sustainable and healthy for future generations.
